Aid for future teachers
WSAC also supports the development of new teachers by providing financial aid to those pursuing work in subjects or locations of high need, known as shortage areas. Most aid is offered as a conditional scholarship, which is a loan that is forgiven in exchange for service as a certificated employee in a shortage area. Learn more about conditional scholarships.
Scholarships
Scholarships do not have to be repaid, and can be awarded based on specific achievements, or on financial need. They come from a variety of sources including schools, employers, individuals, private companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, and professional and social organizations. Clock Hours FAQ
You must do 2 things:
-
- During each PD session eligible for clock hours (Kayla will tell you), you must sign in here. If the session is eligible for clock hours, it will be listed in the drop-down menu on that form. That drop-down will also tell you the maximum number of hours that you can get for the session. Retroactive claiming of clock hours is not possible, so your sign in must happen during the session. Your sign in will be time and date stamped.
- At the end of the school year, you will be sent information about the total number of clock hours you have earned during the year and you will need to fill out a form with that information. You will need to return the form to Impact AND keep a copy for your records.
